How To Install New Rain X Wiper Blades

Step 1:

Take the new blades out of the packaging. Remove the plastic sheets covering them.

Step 2:

Look for a set of tabs on both sides of the blades. After finding them, press firmly and pop the connector cap.

Step 3:

Pull out the lower arm of the wiper and insert the blade’s connecting port into the J hook. Make sure the hook reaches all the way down to the bottom of the connecting port.

Step 4:

After correctly inserting the J hook inside the connecting port, close the connector cap. You can simply flip it down. Hearing a clicking sound means the blade has gotten locked in place. If you don’t hear the click, it means you have to push the hook further down the connecting port.

How To Care For Your Rain X Wipers?

Silicone Treat Them 3/4 Times A Year

Apply silicone spray to the wiper blades every few months. It will help in retaining the gliding ability of the wiper blade material. Do this three or four times a year at minimum. This should ideally be done after wiping down the windshield wipers.

Don’t Forget To Defrost

Heavy snow can cause windshield wipers to become stuck. They might break if you switch them on before defrosting the windshield glass. . If you have to clear snow or ice from your windshield in subzero weather, turn on the defroster before you do anything else.

If you have to go out on early morning drives, it’s best to warm up the car in advance by switching on the defroster in high mode.

Take Care Of The Windshield

A clean windshield makes for long-lasting and well-functioning wipers. So, cleaning the windshield and back glass is integral to maintaining the wipers. Heavy dirt causes the wiper blades to discolor and wear out more quickly.

Using a glass cleaner on the windshield and back window once a week, regardless of the weather, will help preserve the wiper blades. Do not engage the wipers when cleaning the windshield. It will make the wipers more dirty and damaged.

Don’t Run Wipers On Dry Windshields

Only use the wipers when the windshield is wet. Wiper blades may wear out more quickly if used on a dry surface, which will only bring you more trouble. So, never activate the wipers when the windshield is as dry as the Sahara Desert.
